A very healthy saturated fat that is a  high source of lauric acid, one of the most important essential fatty acids for anti-ageing:  antiviral and antibacterial & protects against heart disease, senility, obesity and degeneration.  The medium chain fatty acids found in virgin coconut oil also help increase metabolism by supporting the thyroid and have been shown to reduce weight NOT increase it!  Use for frying, or pop a tablespoon into your daily smoothie, like me. 

And the latest use for coconut oil……1-2 teaspoons melted in your mouth and swished around your teeth for 20 minutes daily (spit out in the kitchen  bin) is supposed to remove toxins, prevent plaque and whiten teeth naturally!  I am doing this daily and my teeth are certainly whiter.  Let me know if you have tried it.  Will report back after next visit to the hygienist.
